Meet the speakers

Caroline Pain

Vice President, Customer Propsition. Aetna International

Caroline has over 20 years of experience leading sizable teams across a range of disciplines including Marketing, Sales, Analytics, Digital, Planning, Change and Customer Strategy. She has run operational, sales and program teams on both client and agency-side. She has held P&L accountability and was also responsible whilst working for Aviva (the largest insurer in the UK) for optimizing the $200m+ marketing budget.

In Caroline’s current role as Vice President of Customer Proposition for Aetna International, she leads the global marketing function. Her responsibilities include delivering every aspect of the marketing mix to a b2b and increasingly b2c audiences in multiple languages, as well as catering for diverse cultures and legal and regulatory environments.

Caroline joined Aetna International in 2012. Her background is firmly in financial services having spent 12 years at Aviva specializing in General Insurance, followed by a move agency side to act as Client Services Director for a digital agency, Online Media Group. She moved to Moneyfacts to run the Business Development function, and latterly became Commercial Director of the savings and insurance aggregator site In 2012, she returned to Aviva to lead the research, analytics and direct marketing function in the UK and India. Immediately before joining Aetna, Caroline led a UK Customer Transformation program focused on call center and digital experience.

Caroline studied Modern History at the University of St Andrews and graduated with a Masters degree in 1996. She holds a Postgraduate degree in Marketing. Caroline and her husband, Norman, have four children between them, varying in age from 12 to 25.
